Hamilton Police have released video footage of a “harrowing” armed home invasion and robbery from early Saturday morning in Dundas where a couple was held at gunpoint while their home was ransacked and two high-end vehicles stolen.

The targeted home invasion happened just after 4:30 a.m. Saturday near Hopkins Court and York Road when four suspects – all wearing balaclavas and dark clothing and brandishing firearms – forcefully entered the home and held the victims hostage until the robbery was complete.

The suspects fled in their own dark-coloured Dodge Ram pick-up truck and also took a navy blue Audi Q5 (Ontario licence plate CXLJ430) and a silver Porsche 992 (Ontario licence plate CYXR564). The victims were not physically harmed.

Police say preliminary findings suggest the incident was targeted.

The suspects are described as Black men in their 20s. All were wearing balaclavas, dark hooded sweatshirts and dark pants.

Hamilton Police are hopeful the community can review the released video footage and help solve this crime.

Hamilton Police are also asking local residents to review their own surveillance cameras for any signs of suspicious activity between 4:15 a.m. and 5 a.m. Saturday and are keen to hear from anyone who were driving in the area at the time and may have dash camera footage that could provide some insights into the case.

Police are stressing the importance of community engagement in identifying and locating the suspects and shedding any light on the events leading up to the robbery.

Anyone with information that could lead to the identification of the suspects or any details related to the incident are asked to contact Detective Sergeant Ben Licop at (905) 546-3851. Tips can also be sent anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at Crime Stoppers Hamilton.
