Tensions in the Middle-East could reverberate in Hamilton, police say

The man who barricaded himself in a Hamilton home has been arrested.

Hamilton Police had been negotiating with the man since about 2 p.m. Nov 13. The process took several hours, with investigators announcing the man’s arrest around 6 p.m. Throughout the four hours it took to coax the man out, police provided few updates.

They confirmed the home was on Lexington Ave, a residential street just northeast of the intersection of Rymel Rd. and Pritchard Rd. However, they provided no information about the barricaded man or the events that led up to the police response. Even the person’s gender was not publically known until the announcement of his arrest.

Instead, police reiterated their call for residents to avoid the area a few times during the negotiations. Now that the situation is resolved people can return to the neighbourhood.
