Carman Ward was a father of two who worked in the auto industry in Brampton.

At approximately 10:45 p.m., on December 21, 2015, the Hamilton Police Service received 911 calls from two separate males in a residence on Miller Drive in Ancaster.

Hamilton police say the callers said they were the victims of an apparent home invasion in which their father, Carman Ward, had been shot.

Police and EMS responded to the scene and Ward was transported to the Juravinski hospital but he could not be revived.

Media reports from around the time of the murder, say that one of the sons had been injured in the home invasion but was treated and released from the hospital a short time later.

The house on Miller Drive eventually became the centre of a drug investigation though it remains unclear if that investigation and Ward’s murder are in any way related.

To this day, Ward’s murder remains unsolved.

Ward’s family has been co-operative, police say, and would appreciate any information that could help HPS in concluding this investigation with an arrest.

Anyone with information about this homicide is being asked to contact S/Sgt Dave Oleniuk of the Major Crime Unit at 905-546-3829.
