An “unsafe structure” on Ferrie Street in Hamilton’s north end has forced the closure of the street between John Street and Catherine Street today (Thursday).

The closure was reported by City Hall watchdog Joey Coleman, who publishes the Public Record. Colemen tagged Ward 2 city councillor Cameron Kroetsch in his post on X (formerly Twitter), with the councillor saying he was looking into the situation with City staff.

“They’ve closed the road ‘to assist with concerns of an unsafe structure’ at 75 Ferrie Street East,” Kroetsch responded. “They’ll keep me posted as things progress and I’ll post what I learn.”
