Earlier this week, a Hamilton Redditor lamented the removal of the old Joe Buttinsky’s sign on King Street to make way for a new sign.

The poster wondered whether or not it was too late to apply for a heritage designation for the sign.

It’s true, as Hamiltonians we can be somewhat resistant to change, but in this case, it’s pretty easy to get on board with what’s coming our way.

Is it too late to get heritage protection for the Buttinsky’s sign? King Street will never be the same again. from r/Hamilton

The new sign going up belongs to the new entertainment complex setting up shop at the former site of Joe Buttinsky’s at 103 King St. E.

Escape Manor, as its name suggests, will offer escape room experiences as well as axe throwing, food and drinks.

This immersive entertainment lounge will feature signature cocktails, craft brews and a yet-to-be-determined menu.

There are a number of Escape Manor locations across the country and in Australia. Hamilton will be the seventh franchise for the company.

Their website says they specialize in group outings like work retreats, team building, bachelor/bachelorette parties and much more.

There’s no indication as to when the doors will finally be open but seeing as how the sign is up, it should be any day now.
