Two people charged after shots fired and firearms seized in Hamilton

Shortly after 3:40 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, Hamilton Police say they received information about possible shots fired in the area of Empire Court.
“Police were provided information that the suspect vehicle involved was a white Mercedes and had driven away. A vehicle matching that description was stopped by police leaving the area, and the two occupants were arrested without incident,” police say.
Officers reportedly located and seized an unloaded starters pistol and an unloaded shotgun from within the vehicle, as well as evidence that the starters pistol was used.

No injuries were reported in the shooting.
A 19 year old Hamilton man and a 15 year old Hamilton girl are charged with multiple firearm-related offences.
Both have been held pending a bail hearing.
