Students at two Hamilton schools are getting a head start on the weekend as a power outage is forcing their schools to remain closed Friday (Nov. 1).
Students at two Hamilton schools are getting a head start on the weekend as a power outage is forcing their schools to remain closed Friday (Nov. 1).
The Hamilton Wentworth District School Board tweeted early Friday morning that Rockton Elementary School (Beverly Campus only) and Spring Valley Elementary School and the childcare services provided in those schools would remain closed for the day due to the outage and its late restoration time.
Due to a power outage and the late estimated time that the power will be restored, Rockton Elementary School (Beverly Campus only) and Spring Valley Elementary School are closed today, Nov. 1. Childcare is also closed.

A power outage in Hamilton is still affecting approximately 115 homes and businesses on Longwood Road to Lock Street South from Homewood Avenue to Hillcrest Avenue.
Crews continue to work to restore it but they don’t expect to have lights back on until 11 a.m.
