Two brothers arrested after police investigate human trafficking incident in Hamilton

Police have made two arrests following a recent human trafficking investigation in Hamilton.

Police have made two arrests following a recent human trafficking investigation in Hamilton.

Shortly before 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 29, police say they received information from the Canadian Human Trafficking Hotline regarding two females in distress.

“The females were at a local Airbnb where they were forced to work in the sex trade industry,” police say.

Oficers attended the area of Ferguson Avenue North and Simcoe Street East and located the two females, who were taken to safety.

Police identified and arrested two suspects: 21 year old Anthony Dignard and 22 year old Sulyvan Dignard, two brothers from Quebec.

Anthony is charged with:

  • Trafficking in Persons
  • Procuring for Sexual Services

Sulyvan is charged with:

  • Trafficking in Persons
  • Material Benefit – trafficking persons
  • Procuring for Sexual Services
  • Advertising Sexual Services
  • Utter Threat to Cause Bodily Harm
  • Fail to Comply with Recognizance (4 counts)

Police believe there may be more witnesses and victims who have not been identified, and are urging them to come forward.
