Thunderstorms in the weekend forecast for southern Ontario

After some beautiful sunny weather, rain and thunderstorms are in the weekend forecast for southern Ontario.
Yesterday, much of southern Ontario reached highs of over 20 C with clear, sunny skies.
The weather is expected to be cooler today with a high of 17 C today (May 3) in Mississauga and Brampton but slightly warmer in Durham, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada. In Hamilton and Halton Region, a high of 16 C is forecast.
A chance of thunderstorms is in the forecast for Peel Region, Hamilton and Halton today.
For the weekend, there is a 40 per cent chance of showers for both Saturday and Sunday.
While Durham Region could see highs of 19 C on Saturday and 22 C on Sunday, in Mississauga and Halton, a high of around 21 C is expected for Saturday and 18 C on Sunday.
These temperatures are above the average high of around 16 C for early May, according to Environment Canada.
The Weather Network is forecasting a risk of thunderstorms on Sunday for parts of southern Ontario including Mississauga and Brampton.
The good news is sunnier skies are in the forecast for Monday.
