A threat made to Holy Name of Jesus Elementary School in Hamilton is being handled by school officials, a tweet from the Catholic school board on Tuesday (Oct. 29) morning says.

The threat, apparently made after school hours on Monday, was investigated overnight by Hamilton Police, the Hamilton Wentworth Catholic District School Board (HWCDSB) says, and the source was determined to be a student of the school.

The nature of the threat has not been disclosed or whether or not the threat was made online.

HWCDSB says there was no threat to the safety of students and staff and that they expect there will be no charges in relation to the matter.

School officials say they will be handling the issue from here on out.
