Homes in Hamilton are not necessarily cheap, but with an average price of $794,982, they remain more affordable than the GTA average selling price of $1,026,703–and some homes that recently changed hands are even more affordable. 

In fact, real estate website and brokerage Zoocasa compiled a list of homes in Hamilton that recently sold for less than $700,000.

Here’s a look at some homes that sold in January for a little (or a lot) less than the average going price in the growing city: 


88 East 35th St.

This quaint and cozy home recently sold for $523,900 after being listed for $514,900. Boasting two bedrooms and one bathroom, the renovated Hamilton Mountain house offers an upgraded and stylish interior, an updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a large lot and proximity to schools, parks and more. 


178 Grosvenor Ave. N.

This Crown Point home, which offers two bedrooms and one bathroom, sold for $530,000 after being listed for $535,000. The cozy bungalow, spanning over 700 square feet, offers an updated kitchen, a freshly painted interior, a garden shed with hydro, a rebuilt chimney and more. 


44 East 16th St. 

This bungalow in Hamilton’s east mountain area sold for $530,000 after being listed for $550,000. The home offers three bedrooms and one bathroom, parking spots for three cars, a covered porch, an updated interior, a large primary bedroom, storage space, and more. 


38 Dundurn St. N.

This Strathcona home boasts three bedrooms, one bathroom and over 700 square feet of space. The home, which sold for $590,000 after being listed for $614,900, features an upgraded interior, restored, original hardwood floors, original grates, exposed brick, an open-concept kitchen and dining area and more.

This three-bedroom, two-bathroom home sold for $640,000 after being listed for $624,900. This two-storey Binbrook townhome, which spans over 1,100 square feet, offers a spacious primary bedroom, an open-concept layout and a private backyard.
