Suspect sought after male cyclist assaulted on Hamilton trail

Hamilton police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in an assault on a cyclist on the Waterfront Trail.

Police say the incident occurred Monday (Aug. 10) at around 7:00 p.m. at Confederation Park – approximately 200 metres east of Wild Water Works.

The 61-year-old male cyclist was intentionally pushed from his bicycle while it was in motion, according to police; resulting in significant injuries.

“The suspect was walking a small black dog and may have been with a female and two children”, said police.

The suspect is described as a white male, standing 6-foot-2-inches, weighing approximately 240-pounds.

Police say the suspect was clean-shaven with short brown hair. He was wearing a light blue t-shirt and dark athletic shorts.
