suspect and victims identified and triple shooting in Hamilton

Hamilton Police have released a description of the suspect believed to be involved in a triple shooting this morning that sent multiple people to the hospital.

Police responded to a shooting at the corner of Gage Avenue North and Cannon Street East around 12:30 a.m.

Upon arrival, officers found three men, all in their 50s, with gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to Hamilton General Hospital, where they are in stable condition.

Residents are asked to check their surveillance systems between midnight and 1:30 a.m. for the suspect, who is described as an Asian man wearing a red hoodie and red pants.

Police say the suspect is believed to have visited the address last night looking for a specific person.

He was directed to leave by the three victims, resulting in a disturbance that led to the shooting.

Subsequently, the suspect fled on foot, and his last known direction of travel is still being determined.

There were approximately eight people in the residence at the time of the shooting, but no one else was injured, officers say.

Investigators will return to the neighbourhood on Monday, June 3, and request video from nearby residences and businesses.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Matt Dugdale at 905-546-4883, or email [email protected].
