Gunfire in Hamilton’s east end early this morning is believed to be a targeted shooting attempt, Hamilton Police say.
No injuries have been reported.
Police say there was a “surge” of 911 calls about shots fired near Garside Ave. S. and Main Street just before two a.m. Police responded to the area and located evidence “consistent with a shooting.”
The investigation is in the preliminary stages and there are no suspect descriptions or other information, beyond the belief the shootings were targeted, the news release declared.
Police are asking residents in the area to review their security surveillance cameras between the hours of 1 a.m. and 2:15 a.m. for any suspicious activity. Detectives are also asking drivers with dash cam footage that would be suitable for review to contact Detective Sergeant Candace Culp at (905) 546-2907.
