“Significant” rainfall and a risk of thunderstorms are forecasted for Hamilton today (Aug. 15).

The rainfall, likely 20 to 50 mm, is expected to last until the evening and “may be heavy at times,” according to Environment Canada in a special weather statement for Hamilton.

The heavy rain is expected to weaken tonight.

Environment Canada added that areas “that see prolonged periods of heavy rain or multiple thunderstorms may see higher amounts which may require rainfall warnings.”
