Serious crash leads to charges for minivan driver, scooter rider in Hamilton

Two people involved in a collision, including an electric scooter rider who was seriously injured, face charges in Hamilton.
At about 8:15 p.m. on July 24, a minivan crashed into a stand-up electric scooter on Rymal Road West near Garth Street, Hamilton police said. The scooter rider was sent to hospital.
The driver of the minivan has been charged with failing to yield the right of way to all traffic from a private driveway.
The rider of the kick scooter was slapped with various charges regarding the status of the scooter under the Ministry of Transportation guidelines, police added. The police didn’t provide further details on the charges.
