Security guard allegedly assaulted during protest at NDP Convention in Hamilton

A security guard was allegedly assaulted after a protest took place this afternoon at the Hamilton Convention Centre.
On Saturday (Oct. 14) at approximately 2:15 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to an alleged protest at 1 Summers Ln, where a two-day NDP Convention was also taking place.
According to police, between 25-30 individuals arrived to protest.
The protest reportedly occurred while NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh gave his speech during the second day of the convention right before a leadership vote.
During the incident, a security guard was assaulted, prompting an ongoing investigation by Hamilton Police.
Investigators say, no arrests have been made, and the individuals involved left the area.
