Roads closed as police investigate fatal Hamilton shooting

Officers are continuing to investigate a fatal shooting and double homicide in Hamilton.

Shortly before 8:00 a.m., police reported a shooting at Sam’s Tavern on Barton Street East.

Two people, a male and female, are confirmed to be deceased. Two others were taken to hospital and are in stable condition.

As the Major Crime Unit investigates, Barton Street is closed between Earl and Birch, and traffic is restricted on nearby roadways in the area.
