A few upcoming road closures might be snarling up traffic for the next couple days, even weeks in some place, so drivers are warned to plan ahead.
The city of Hamilton announced Thursday a section of Centennial Parkway will be reduced to one lane in each direction at the CP Rail overpass between Ridge Road and King Street East starting Monday (Oct. 28) for approximately six weeks as they make ‘immediate’ repairs to the bridge.
Another closure beginning Monday is the northbound and southbound lanes of the York Boulevard bridge between Plains Road West and Old Guelph Road. The road will be closed between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. for three nights to safely replace bridge bearings.
The work is expected to wrap up on or before October 30, 2019.

Then, over the weekend, Harvest Road between Brock Road and Ofield Road in Greensville will be closed on Saturday and Sunday.
The city says police will be on-site at both intersections controlling traffic. Only local residents and the waterfall shuttle will be permitted to access the area.
The road will be closed between 8 a.m. and 9 p.m. pending weather and traffic conditions.
These measures, the city says, along with additional signage and communications, are in place to assist with traffic control in the area and to guide visitors to the Spencer Gorge Conservation Area waterfall shuttle service, located at 1000 Highway 5 West, at Christie Lake Conservation Area.
Unauthorized parking and higher volumes of traffic in the area, due to the abundance of visitors to the area who are looking to scop out the fall colours, have been a concern for residents in the area.
The city says that there is no on-site parking available at Spencer Gorge during shuttle operations, with the exception of limited accessible parking at Webster Falls. The shuttle operates from Christie Lake runs from 9:30 a.m. to 6:30.
The penalty for unlawful parking in the area is pretty steep at $250. The city warns visitors to the area that enforcement and ticketing will be carried out by parking control officers on residential streets posted as No Stopping or No Parking. Licensing officers will be enforcing illegal parking operations in the area.
