The rail blockade in Hamilton has been cleared.

The rail blockade in Hamilton has been cleared.

Since Monday, protestors had been disrupting train services through a blockade on the tracks in Hamilton which disrupted Metrolinx service at the West Harbour GO, Hamilton GO, St. Catharines GO and Niagara Falls GO stations, as well CN and CP rail service.

Despite being served an injunction requiring the protestors to leave, they refused.

However, after discussions with Hamilton Police Services (HPS) for much of the day, protestors dismantled the blockades and left the area around 5 p.m. today.

Currently, HPS is still investigating the service disruptions, and they’re urging anyone with relevant information to contact them at 905-546-3833.
