Five Hamilton residents are facing a slew of drug and weapons charges from three raids late last month.

Hamilton Police executed two drug-related search warrants at separate residential addresses on February 27, with the search discovering fentanyl, cocaine, cocaine press, liquid codeine and psilocybin, as well as a shotgun, a butterfly knife, more than $5,000 in cash and a money counter.

Charged is Marlon Hyatt, 35, Krystal Bell, 35, Jervais Whyte, 36, and Amie Amaral, 34, with 15 drug trafficking offences in total, as well as seven weapons offences and a dozen proceeds-of-crime charges.

A second investigation two days later at a laundromat on Barton St. E. uncovered an underground dispensary for “numerous illegal illicit drug products” and resulted in charges against a 35-year-old Hamilton man.

Christopher Karns has been hit with six charges, including three counts of trafficking in fentanyl, oxycodone and psilocybin.

Additional charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking are expected to be laid after further testing by Health Canada.

The investigations remain on going.
