Update: Power outage impacts over 800 homes and businesses in Hamilton

A power outage in Hamilton is impacting 876 homes and businesses in the downtown area this evening (Aug.17).
Alectra Utilities said the outage is weather-related and crews have been dispatched to the locality.
The estimated time of restoration is set at 1:30 a.m. tonight.
Local residents and businesses are encouraged to stay informed through Alectra Utilities’ website and to exercise caution during the power outage.
Update: Around 7 a.m. today (Aug. 18), Alectra said the downtown power outage was now affecting approximately 228 homes. Crews are working on the problem. The estimated time of restoration is 10 a.m.
