Kinton Ramen is opening its first Hamilton location as it undergoes what it calls its most ambitious expansion so far to meet the “significant demand” for authentic ramen experiences.

The popular restaurant will open its 33rd North American location at 1379 Upper James St. (Unit 2) in Hamilton on Saturday, Nov. 18. Kinton Ramen will serve guests Monday to Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.

It said it’s on track to open three locations before the end of this year, bringing the total to 36.

“As we explored potential locations for our newest … restaurant, it became evident that something special was brewing in Hamilton, and we wanted to be a part of it,” said Amy Rozinsky, senior marketing director of Kinton Ramen, in a statement. “The vibrant and diverse community here, along with its flourishing food scene, made it an ideal choice for our expansion. We’re thrilled to introduce our love for ramen to Hamiltonians and create countless memorable moments with the community.”

To celebrate its Hamilton opening, the restaurant is offering 50-per-cent off all ramen dishes only for dine-in orders between 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18. The offer applies to one bowl per person and excludes seasonal specials, extra toppings, taxes and tips.

The restaurant is offering delivery and takeaway options at order.kintonramen.com, Uber Eats and DoorDash.

From classic ramen options and combo specials to sake and other beverages, the restaurant said its professional ramen chefs use “the freshest ingredients to make the best quality noodles and broths.”

With 32 restaurants in Canada and the United States, Kinton Ramen said it attracted loyal fans in major cities like Toronto because of its “innovative approach to ramen while honouring traditional recipes.”

International hospitality group Kinka Family opened the first Kinton Ramen in 2012 in downtown Toronto. The company is Canada’s largest Japanese restaurant group.
