Police seek dash cam footage in LINC collision that killed 23-year-old man

Hamilton Police are seeking the public’s help in investigating the fatal vehicle collision that occurred on Aug. 26.
Police are asking commuters who were travelling on the Alexander Linc Parkway between 8:35 a.m to 8:45 a.m. to check their dashcam footage for the following information:
- Vehicles matching the descritption of those involved in the accident
- Check for licence plate numbers, if you were behind or alongside the vehicles in question
- Any suspicious behaviour/ activity on scene
- Road and weather conditions during the incident
The incident occurred just before 9 a.m., when the 23-year-old was driving a black BMW westbound on the Lincoln Alexander Pkwy near Upper James St.
Police say, the driver lost control of the BMW and crossed the center median.
After that it collided with a Ford motor vehicle, operated by a 72-year-old woman. The 23-year-old was pronounced at the scene and the 72 year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
On Aug.28, Hamilton Police said a second car, dark coloured Infinity motor vehicle that was travelling westbound on the Lincoln Alexander Pkwy allegedly played a significant role in the collision.
Authorities are asking individuals to isolate the relevant portion of the footage (including clear images of vehicles, licence plates and surrounding area) and save it on your device.
