Police investigate social media threat made to Hamilton Catholic school board

Hamilton police said Monday (Oct. 7) morning they were investigating reports of an overnight threat received by the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board (HWCDSB) via social media.

Hamilton Police are currently investigating an overnight threat received @HWCDSB in #HamOnt through social media. The threat is not specific and no school was individually named. We are working closely with the school board. Details will be provided when available.

Police have not disclosed the nature of the threat and in a tweet said the threat is ‘not specific.’
No school was specifically named in the supposed threat and Hamilton police say they are working with the school board to investigate.
