Police Investigate Sexual Assault at Hamilton’s Valley Park

Hamilton police are investigating an alleged sexual assault that happened last week in Valley Park.

Early in the morning of Monday, Sept. 23, police were alerted to a sexual assault that is said to have taken place at a secluded part of the park located on Stoney Creek Mountain.

Two men — one of whom was wielding a knife — attacked a woman who was able to escape unharmed.

The two suspects were wearing dark clothing at the time of the attack and their direction of travel after the incident is unknown.

Hamilton police are asking any witnesses to contact police and residents near the park are asked to check their surveillance cameras for suspicious activity.

The first suspect is described as having a heavier build, scruffy facial hair, bushy eyebrows and to have been wearing a dark hoodie and jeans at the time of the incident.

The other suspect is described as having a thinner build and is said to have been wearing a dark hoodie during the attack.
