Police identify victim killed in Hamilton shooting

Police have disclosed the identity of a male victim who was pronounced dead following a recent shooting in Hamilton.

At 1:35 a.m. on Saturday, October 19, police received reports of a male being shot outside Boulevard Billiards at York Boulevard and Queen Street.

First responders arrived and located a male was on the sidewalk outside the establishment with vital signs absent. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 29 year old Hamilton man Obsa Junedi-Mohamed.

“The victim’s immediate and extended family have now been notified of his death,” police say.

The Major Crime Unit is continuing to investigate this murder.

Police are searching for two suspects — the first suspect is described as a lighter skinned black male, no facial hair, wearing a dark toque, dark hoodie, and a dark puffy jacket, while the second suspect is described as a darker skinned black male, wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants, and a dark jacket.

Police are also seeking to contact several people last seen in the area of the shooting who may have information.

This is the tenth homicide of the year in Hamilton, police say.
