Police and firefighters are on scene for an incident in Stoney Creek this evening.
Shortly after 2:00 p.m., crews responded to a large garage fire at a residence in the area of Barton Street and Dewitt Road.
Residents in the area were evacuated and no injuries have been reported.
“The entire area has been blocked off for safety reasons and police are requesting that all residents and pedestrians stay away from area until the fire is safely under control,” police say.

Crews are expected to remain on scene for an extended period of time.
