Person barricades themselves inside Hamilton residence, police on scene

Hamilton police are asking residents to stay away from Wellington St. N. Friday afternoon as police deal with an ongoing situation at a local residence.

There is a heavy police presence in the area as police continue to communicate with a person who has barricaded themselves inside a Wellington St. N. home.

“At this time, (the) investigation is isolated and there is no concern for the continued public safety,” said Hamilton police in a tweet on the X platform.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.

“We ask everyone to avoid the area as police work to bring this to a peaceful resolution.”
