One person reportedly shot inside a Restobar in Hamilton

Police are investigating a shooting which took place early this morning at a restaurant and bar in Hamilton which left one man with gunshot wounds.

Hamilton Police say they responded to reports of a shooting around 2:30 a.m., at 33 Bowen Restobar near Bowen Street and John Street South.

Investigators say, a man was found inside of the establishment and had sustained gunshot wounds.

The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment, though the extent of his injuries are unknown at this time. Officials have not released additional information on the victim such as his age or place of residence.

According to Google, 33 Bowen Restobar is permanently closed and authorities haven’t confirmed details regarding how the suspect and victim gained entry.

Police believe the incident to be targeted and say, “there is no outstanding risks to the public.”

The investigation is still in its early phases with no current descriptions or images of the suspect.

This marks the second targeted shooting incident in Hamilton within a day, following yesterday’s occurrence where a man sustained gunshot wounds outside a hookah lounge.
