One arrested as Hamilton Police conclude weapons investigation

Hamilton Police investigated an incident involving a weapon early this morning which lead to the arrest of one person and the recovery of a gun.

On Saturday (July 29) at approximately 9:20 a.m., police responded to the area of Garner Rd. W. / Shaver Rd. southwest of Wilson St., for a person with a weapon.

Police say since then, they have completed their investigations and confirmed that there is no other ongoing threat to public safety.

According to investigators, one person was arrested at a nearby residence and a pellet gun was seized.

Officers have not indicated if anyone was injured.

Hamilton Police Service are thanking citizens for their patience while the incident was being resolved.
