The Novavax XBB Vaccine is now available at the public health clinic at Hamilton Public Library – Central Branch – by walk-in or by appointment.

The clinic, located on the library’s fourth floor at 55 York Boulevard, will be open January 9. 16 and 23 this month.

Both the Novavax XBB and influenza vaccines became available October 30, with priority initially given to those at high risk for severe COVID-19 and flu illness and those in contact with those at high risk, including hospital patients and staff, residents and staff of chronic care facilities, pregnant individuals and seniors, children six months to four years of age, the Indigenous community, those with underlying health conditions and first responders.

Hamilton Public Health officials are urging residents to stay up to date with all respiratory vaccines. The Novavax XBB COVID-19 vaccine is a new formulation that more closely matches the currently circulating sub-variant and is recommended for all individuals six months after their last dose.
