New road closures around Hamilton due to maintenance work, event

Some Hamilton roads will be closed for a period of time due to maintenance work.

For six weeks starting Monday, July 31, the Bridge 111 site and Mineral Springs Road will be closed for bridge rehabilitation and road reconstruction.

From Monday, July 31 to Friday, Aug. 4, work on replacing a culvert will cause an escarpment closure on Dewitt Road (upbound) between Dundee Drive and Ridge Road. Use Highway 20 or McNeilly Rd as alternate detour routes. The City said motorists should expect some delays throughout this area.

From Monday, July 31 to Friday, Aug. 4 from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, road resurfacing will close the lanes on Butter Road between Shaver Road and Trinity Road. The City said motorists may expect some delays throughout this area. The work is weather dependent.

Here are other closures affecting some roads this week and next:

  • Princeton Drive, Valecrest Ave to Margate Avenue will be closed for a water service connection from Thursday, July 27 at 7 a.m. to Friday, July 28 at 5 p.m.
  • Marion Avenue North from Dromore Crescent to King Street West will be closed to complete paving in echelon from Friday, July 28 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • There will be a road closure on Marion Avenue North from Dromore Crescent to King Street West on Friday, July 28 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for paving.
  • Vine Street, Park Street to MacNab Street will be closed for an event on Sunday, July 30 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
