A new cannabis store is opening two new locations soon on the Hamilton mountain.

Sessions Cannabis, an Ontario-based marijuana dispensary with storefronts popping up across the province, is opening two shops here — one on Stoney Creek Mountain and one in Binbrook.

The new Sessions Red Hill storefront is located at 1786 Stone Church Rd. E (the same plaza as Fionn McCool’s) and appears to be in the final stages of construction.

The second location is expected to open this summer in Binbrook.

According to the company’s website, the expectation was to open the Stoney Creek store this spring but likely the pandemic put a bit of a damper on those plans.

Sessions is currently a small operation based out of Toronto with fewer than 50 employees at the moment, according to their LinkedIn profile.

“At Sessions, we offer a broad curated range of cannabis products from established growers through to local new releases,” their website says.

“The seasoned connoisseur, or a curious newcomer, we can help you find or recommend the right cannabis product to enhance your moments.”

The company has undergone a rapid expansion since launching its brand last year. According to reports, they plan to have at least 30 locations across the province by the end of 2020.

This is just the second retail marijuana space to open on the Stoney Creek mountain. The first was Tokyo Smoke, located at the corner of Rymal and Upper Centennial, which opened in February.
