A trio of Hamiltonians got lucky, winning a total of $100,000 with OLG Lotto games.

Mother-daughter duo, Concetta and Calogera Digati won a $50,000 top prize with Instant Bingo.

Concetta, 52, and her 87-year-old mother, Calogera, were at a mall together for a day out when they purchased a couple of tickets at Imperial Variety on Wellington St to play while they enjoyed their coffee.

“I didn’t know the ticket was a winner when I scanned it using the Ticket Checker at the kiosk,” Concetta shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up their cheque. “The cashier told us it was a big winner, but we didn’t know how much we had won.”

The pair have each made some plans for their winnings. Concetta plans to save for her retirement and will splurge on some shopping. Calogera is also looking forward to shopping, and in particular, is planning to buy a new bed for herself.

Meanwhile, Robert MacDonald of Hamilton is celebrating after winning an Ontario 49 second prize worth $50,000 in the July 25 draw. He matched five numbers plus the bonus number to win the prize.

Robert, a 76-year old father of two, got his winning ticket as a result of a free play.

He was at home when he discovered his win while using the OLG Lottery App to check his ticket.

“I saw the Big Winner message, but I was cool as a cucumber,” he shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre. “I told my friend about the win and she was more excited than me.”

The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K on Fennell Avenue in Hamilton.

Robert, a retired steelworker, has already made plans for some of his winnings.

“I bought a blue Chevrolet Trax,” he smiled. “I’ll pick it up at the dealership tomorrow.”

Ontario 49 is $1 per play and the draws take place every Wednesday and Saturday.
