With the return to school in Hamilton just days away, McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH) has developed a valuable resource for parents in the hopes of alleviating some of their concerns.

MCH has created a series of videos for families to help guide them through this unusual time, whether it’s a return to the classroom or learning from home.

In the videos, experts provide information on masking, distancing, hand washing, easing children’s’ anxiety, and supporting children with autism.

“Whether your child is learning from home, in the classroom, or a combination of both this school year, we support you in your decision,” says MCH president Bruce Squires.

“We recognize the challenges the COVID-19 pandemic has brought to families who are balancing school, work and many other responsibilities.”

Hamilton’s schools will have a staggered start to the year which will get underway next week.

Both boards have made strides in reducing class sizes to accommodate physical distancing as much as possible and all students are expected to wear a mask throughout the day in school.
