Hamilton Police are “urgently requesting” the public’s help in identifying a man they believe committed two robberies up on the Mountain in October.

Around 2 a.m. on Oct. 18, the man entered the Pioneer Gas Bar by Upper Gage Ave. and Crockett St. He pulled a gun on the cashier and demanded money. Once he got the cash, the man fled the store on foot along Upper Gage Ave.

Next, the man struck a Shell Gas Station over on Fennell Ave. and Upper Ottawa St. on Dec. 27. This station sits about 1.6 kilometres southeast of the first. The man entered the Shell just after 2 a.m. and this time brandished a large knife. He again demanded money, then fled down Fennell Ave.

While the businesses lost cash, no one was hurt in the robberies. Hamilton Police describe the robber as roughly six feet tall, with a muscular build. He wore a green hooded sweater, dark pants, black shoes a white medical mask, a black baseball hat, work gloves, and a black backpack.

“Hamilton Police are urgently seeking the public’s cooperation in identifying this suspect,” investigators wrote.

Anyone with information can call police at 905-540-6329 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
