Man who suffered medical episode that led to collision dies: Police

A man involved in a collision last month has succumbed to his injuries, Hamilton police said in a press release issued Thursday (Nov. 14).

A man involved in a collision last month has succumbed to his injuries, Hamilton police said in a press release issued Thursday (Nov. 14).

On October 17, 2019, shortly after 11:30 p.m., Police, Fire and Ambulance were called to Barton Street East at Grays Road in Hamilton for a collision.

Initial reports indicated that a 73-year-old man driving a 2008 Chevrolet passenger van was travelling west on Barton Street East when he suffered a medical episode and lost control of the vehicle before he struck a pole.

He was taken to hospital to be treated for his injuries which included trauma to his head.

Unfortunately, the man died on October 26, 2019, as a result of his sustained injuries.

Police have ruled out alcohol as a contributing factor involved in this collision.
