Man charged by Hamilton police in theft investigation

The Hamilton Police BEAR Unit says it’s continuing to investigate a rash of catalytic converter thefts from vehicles in the region.

On Thursday, October 10, police arrested a suspect identified as David Stewart, 36, of no fixed address.

Stewart is charged with mischief under $5000 and failing to comply with probation.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges are expected.

Residents are advised to keep their vehicles safe by parking them in well-lit areas, close to pedestrian or vehicle traffic, and in areas with video surveillance when possible.
