Although it’s 29 degrees in Hamilton right now (and feels more like 32 degrees), The Weather Network says an incoming cold front will wipe out the humidity and maybe prompt some thunderstorms on Friday, June 5.

The weekend will also feature significantly cooler weather.

“Temperatures will remain sticky and hot, but relief is coming Friday night as a cold front sweeps through the province,” The Weather Network says.

“While this means much cooler air for the weekend, it will bring the potential for widespread thunderstorms, possibly severe, across the south, north and east Friday afternoon.”

According to the weather agency, thunderstorms are possible in Mississauga, Brampton, Halton and Hamilton on Friday.

The Weather Network says that aside from the lingering and conditional thunderstorm potential, southern Ontario will continue to see muggy and warm conditions, with daytime highs approaching 30°C in many areas on June 4.

The possible thunderstorms in the forecast for Friday could be “severe.”

“Friday will remain hot and sticky, but an incoming cold front will wipe out the muggy conditions in the evening. But, ahead of its passage, it could trigger widespread thunderstorms, potentially severe, across the south and in parts of the north, as well.”

By Saturday, temperatures will be much cooler with the humidity all but gone. The Weather Network says much warmer and more humid conditions could return by the middle of next week with the potential for temperatures to climb into the low-30s for a couple of days.
