The City of Hamilton is reporting no new cases of COVID-19 in the community since Tuesday (June 30).

As of Thursday, the City is reporting that there has been 842 cases of the virus in Hamilton since it was first reported here in mid-March. This marks no change from the city’s last reporting on cases two days ago.

As it stands, 834 cases have been confirmed positive while there are eight cases considered probable.

Of Hamilton’s COVID-19 cases, 746 have been resolved, accounting for approximately 89 per cent of the city’s overall case count. The numbers show that there are currently fewer than 100 active cases in Hamilton for the time being.

The local death toll remains at 44, a number that has remained unchanged since early last week.

As of Thursday afternoon, there are just three people being treated for the virus at local hospitals, a number that has dropped dramatically since last week.

Meanwhile, Ontario reported 153 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday and four new deaths related to the novel coronavirus.

The total number of cases now stands at 35,370, which includes 30,730 marked as resolved and 2,680 deaths.

The province reported 204 resolved cases over the previous day, and the numbers of people in intensive care and using ventilators both dropped.

More than 24,300 tests were completed over the previous 24 hours.
