Labour Day parade and picnic returns to Bayfront park in Hamilton

The annual Labour Day parade is set to return on Sept. 4 in Hamilton.

This year’s celebration will be a blend of tradition and excitement, featuring the parade, a picnic gathering, and an array of activities at Bayfront Park, according to a press release by the Hamilton and District Labour Council (HDLC).

The parade kicks off at 10:30 a.m. and interested participants are urged to assemble at the DRAFT Parade Line Up at 9 a.m.

This year’s parade route will be the same as 2022, with the procession starting from Stuart St., and ending at Bayfront.

Once the parade concludes at 11:30 a.m., participants move to Bayfront Park for the picnic gathering lasting until 2:30 p.m., offering families and friends the perfect opportunity to socialize.

The following roads will be closed to vehicular traffic from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm during the Labour Day Parade:

  • Bay St., Strachan St. to York Blvd
  • York Blvd, Bay St. to James St.
  • James St., York Blvd to Strachan St.
  • Strachan St., James St. to Bay St.
