Hamilton will be hosting a former U.S. first lady in the coming weeks.

Michelle Obama will be appearing at First Ontario Centre on October 11 and there are still a few tickets to be found to what many would consider a historic event.

Obama is perhaps the most influential and inspiring first lady to have graced the halls of the White House in recent memory.

So much so, that the current U.S. First Lady has been accused of plagiarizing some of Obama’s speeches.

In the years she served as the first lady, from 2009 to 2017, Obama led four key initiatives: Let’s Move!, to address the challenge of childhood obesity; Joining Forces, to support U.S. veterans, service members and their families; Reach Higher, to inspire young people to seek higher education; and Let Girls Learn, to help adolescent girls around the world go to school.

Since leaving the White House, she has inspired millions with her memoir Becoming.

Obama will be in Hamilton at the FirstOntario Centre on Friday, October 11. The show, presented by the Hamilton Chamber of Commerce, starts at 7 p.m.
