An allegedly impaired driver was arrested at a Hamilton McDonald’s while in possession of meth, oxycodone and a gun, according to Hamilton Police.

Officers responded to the McDonald’s on Cootes Dr. in Dundas at 4 a.m. on Feb 13. When they arrived they found a silver Jeep Grand Cherokee parked in the drive-through. Police say the driver was unconscious behind the wheel.

The officers opened the Jeep to check the man’s condition, finding him “hunched over and sweaty.”  The man eventually awoke and seemed “disoriented and unsteady on his feet.” The officers arrested the man after they found drugs, police say.

They then searched the Jeep and allegedly discovered;

  • 20 grams of crystal methamphetamine
  • two glass pipes with residue
  • An unloaded Smith and Wesson M and P handgun
  • Two magazines containing .45 calibre rounds
  • 20 pills of oxycodone

Frank Curto, 43, has been charged with 10 criminal charges for impaired operation and several gun and drug possession charges. The charges have not been proven in court.

“Thank you to the members of the community that recognized the signs of an impaired driver and took action to report it to police. By doing so, you helped stop a possible collision that could have injured or even killed someone,” police said.
