Hamilton Police had to be called after a customer at a drive-through restaurant became “irate” at the window after discovering that the restaurant had run out of rice for his burrito.
The man now faces impaired driving and resisting arrest charges.
Police say the 30-year-old opted to park his vehicle and enter the restaurant at Upper James Street and Fennell Avenue, just south of downtown, at about 8:30 a.m. Saturday to “express his concerns,” forcing staff to call police after the man refused to leave. When police arrived they determined the “irate individual” was impaired and arrested him.
No arrests for impaired driving occurred on Super Bowl Sunday but Hamilton Police did arrest ten individuals for impaired driving over the weekend, with eight impaired by alcohol and two impaired by drug.
If you suspect anyone might be impaired by either alcohol or drug, call 911.
