Here’s where you can park for free in Hamilton this holiday season

The City of Hamilton is getting into the spirit of the season by offering free parking at various locations throughout the city in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

The City of Hamilton is getting into the spirit of the season by offering free parking at various locations throughout the city in the weeks leading up to Christmas.

Free parking is available in Hamilton’s various Business Improvement Areas (BIAs) across the city in advance of the holiday season.

Motorists just need to look for the message inside the on-street parking meter caps or on parking meter bags.

Here’s where you can park for free for two hours on the street:

From November 24 to December 24

  • Ancaster BIA
  • Barton Village BIA
  • Concession Street BIA
  • Hamilton Downtown (West Avenue to Queen, Hunter to Cannon, also James Street from Charlton to Barton)
  • International Village BIA
  • King Street West BIA
  • Ottawa Street BIA

From December 1 to 31

  • Locke Street BIA
  • Westdale Village BIA

The municipal carpark located in the Dundas BIA in downtown Dundas is also offering free parking from December 1 to 31.

All parking and stopping regulations must be obeyed at all times. Dome inserts are used to display an appropriate message at a cost to be borne by the Hamilton Municipal Parking System.
