Early works construction for Hamilton’s LRT is getting underway this week, a tweet from Metrolinx confirms.
In preparation for the LRT major construction phase, a section of pipeline, operated by Trans Northern Pipelines Inc., crossing the LRT corridor near the Queenston Traffic Circle needs to be upgraded.
The construction is expected to be completed by late December and work will be conducted Monday through Friday, between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.
Residents are warned to expect some traffic delays in the area and be prepared for some noise from the construction.
Phased lane closures will occur on Queenston Road between Craigroyston Road and Berry Avenue and one lane of traffic will remain open in each direction.

The Queenston-facing entry into Tim Hortons will be closed in phases during the work. The Cochrane Street entrance will remain open. No other driveways or accesses will be impacted by this work, Metrolinx says.
HSR transit service will be maintained, but bus stops may move temporarily to accommodate the work.
