Hamilton’s Forge FC training in Mexico in preparation for their Feb. 7 Champions League match

Home base for the next couple of weeks for two-time CPL champion Forge FC is the sunny city of Queretaro in central Mexico, which is known for its well-preserved Spanish colonial architecture, including a striking pink stone aqueduct and historic baroque churches.
The players will likely have little time for sightseeing, however, as they get in some warm weather training in preparation for the first leg of the Concacaf Champions League back home on Tim Horton’s Field February 7 against CD Guadalajara.
Forge will return to Mexico for the second leg February 13 at Estadio Akron, located about 380 kilometres west of their Queretaro training grounds.
The players have been working out indoors since January 6 at Redeemer University, two days after checking in for medicals at Tim Horton’s Field. They left for Mexico Tuesday.
The club also announced their home opener date – April 13 against Cavalry FC in a re-match of the 2023 league championship game that was played on Forge’s home turf.
The rest of the four-time CPL champion’s league schedule will be revealed January 23.
