Hamilton watch brand unveils new collection inspired by the city’s rich heritage

A renowned Hamilton watch company has recently announced the launch of its latest collection, the James series, drawing inspiration from Hamilton’s vibrant heritage.

Locke and King’s timepieces pay homage to James St. in Hamilton, an iconic location steeped in history, acting as a gateway for newcomers to Canada and bearing the legacy of North America’s railroad.

Like the individuals who have shaped the city over time, from artists and architects to chefs and medical professionals, the James watches act as everyday heroes, according to Locke and King.

A significant influence on the timepiece’s dial design is Hamilton’s old city hall clock, which has graced James Street for over 130 years and now stands tall in the City Centre clock tower.

“The coin edge, ridged bezel reflects a certain sophistication while also embracing the street’s authentic and resilient spirit,” the company’s website stated.

The James series offers three distinct colour combinations, each designed to reflect various aspects of the city.

The ‘Midnight Blue & Silver Steel’ embodies Hamilton’s nightlife, with a deep midnight blue dial representing the allure of the city after dark.

‘Stark White & Silver Steel’ was inspired by the city’s architectural heritage, this clean and minimalist combination symbolizes Hamilton’s dedication to progress and innovation. The stark white dial exudes purity, while the silver steel elements represent the city’s industrial roots.

‘Pitch Green & Copper,’ pays tribute to Hamilton’s love for sports, the outdoors, and its recreational heritage, while the “pitch” green dial represents the excitement of competition, and the copper accents symbolize endurance.
