Saying ‘yes’ to ENCORE paid off for Zbigniew Soprych of Stoney Creek. ‘Ben’ matched the last six of seven ENCORE numbers in exact order in the July 15, 2020, LOTTO 6/49 draw to win $100,000!

Soprych, a 45-year-old truck driver, had a free-play win from another draw, and he added ENCORE to the ticket.

“I was on the road for work and stopped for a coffee and to buy tickets for that night’s LOTTO MAX draw,” he said, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto recently to pick up his cheque.

“I checked my ticket at the Ticket Checker and $100,000 on the screen. I thought, what are those numbers? What’s happening? My mind didn’t register what was going on,” he said.

Soprych plans to save his prize winnings.

“For now, it’s going in the bank,” he said.

“At the moment, there is nothing that I really need. Maybe I’ll treat myself, but at this point, I don’t have plans. I’ll have a nice special meal with my parents to celebrate this win. The real joy for me will be taking it to the bank.”

“I never thought I would win on such a small ticket that I only paid $1 for! It’s still kind of not real, but I’m really, really happy,” he said.

The OLG Prize Centre in Toronto is now accepting in-person prize claim appointments for winning-ticket holders of $10,000 or more.

The winning ticket was purchased at Esso on the Run on Fruitland Road in Stoney Creek.
